The Environmental Technology Development and Demonstration Program (MUDP)
The program for the Environmental Technology Development and Demonstration Program (MUDP) aims at ensuring a better environment as well as strengthen green exports and job creation. The program is a continuation of the Danish efforts since 2007 to promote new environmental technologies.
The MUDP Program activities
The main purpose of the MUDP Program is to support the development and application of new environmental and resource efficient solutions addressing prioritized environmental challenges. Further, the ambition is to boost and strengthen cooperation between companies, knowledge-based institutions and partners in the EU within the field of environmental technology.
The program rests on three pillars:
- The subsidy scheme: Funding for development, testing and demonstration of new technology that creates a foundation for higher environmental standards and/or the possibility to comply with existing regulation using smarter technologies.
- Innovation partnerships: Cooperation and dialogue between private companies, knowledge institutions and authorities on new possibilities to create better and cheaper environmental solutions relating to existing environmental challenges and future national and international regulation.
- International environmental cooperation: Demonstration of Danish companies’ environmental solutions to foreign partners and targeted export promotion.
The Board of MUDP
The MUDP program is managed by a professional board with 8 members appointed by the Danish Minister of Environment and Food. At least half of the members have a business background.
The Board has prepared a 4-year strategy for the program and is obliged to on this basis as well as the prioritization of environmental challenges from the Danish Minister of Environment and Food to prepare an annual action plan for the program's detailed implementation.
